Alone, You and the world
Solo travel is a gift to the soul. It opens you up to things you would never otherwise know.
It’s an enlightenment of sorts.
It’s a recognition that you can both be invisible and the focal point all at once. You can wake up and recognize that you are but a small pea in a vat of soup and yet you are the earth in the solar system, the only true human life-form within the galaxy. You are a special creature in the context of the world.
Deep understanding comes from reflection. The deepest derived from time alone. You want to venture, wide-eyed and curious to places that exude a certain rip curl.
Touch places like Europe where the world is a melting pot of colors. Smell places in the middle east where you stand out as a unique cheese. Taste South America where the world knows nothing but kindness of its own accord; There is so much beauty to be received in the world.
So much to be felt as a jubilant youth explorer. Remember however, that as you get older, those yearnings don’t subside. They are not exclusive to a younger man. They wisen as you grow older and lifes’ wonders crystalize in the lens. Be loving to yourself and you too will have the world again.
